So you may think I’m stretching it when I say bottled water is unhealthy, but it’s true. It’s extremely unhealthy for our environment.
The consumption of bottled water in America reached a staggering 154 billion litres in 2004. It takes over 1.5 million barrels of oil just to make the bottles for the bottled water. WHOA! That is enough to fuel 100,000 cars for a year. Now think about where all those bottles end up. Did you know in some parts of the USA recycling is not practiced? So those water bottles end up in our landfill.
My family loves bottled water, we use to purchase it by the case(s). That is up until the time I read about the impact bottled water is having on our environment. Instead of bottled water, we use our own ‘bottles’ and refill them.
Okay… so they don’t have to be Starbucks. And they don’t need to be red. But these our favorites! When we are home, our water is tap water… filtered tap water. Imagine that. We drink tap water.
Blog Action Day is here, and I wasn’t prepared with a post, so I’m cross posting here. What can I say?
